A Discord bot that tells you when someone you follow joins a voice channel.
Follow a few friends or the whole server. When they hop into voice, you get a DM or an ntfy push notification saying who joined, which channel and which server, so you can jump in too.
How it works
Add NotifyMe to your server
It needs to see channels and send messages. No setup after that.
Pick who you want to hear about
Type !notifyme add followed by a username or nickname, or add all to follow the whole server.
Get a DM or a push when they hop into voice
The moment they join a voice channel, NotifyMe messages you with who, where and which server. Prefer push notifications? Switch to ntfy.
Commands
Type these in any text channel the bot can see, or send them to NotifyMe in a DM. Pick one to see the reply.
general
Good to know
- Follows are per server
- Following Sam in one server doesn't cover another server you share. You can follow different people in each.
- Only joins count
- You hear about someone when they join voice. Switching channels, muting and deafening stay quiet.
- Never about you
- You won't be notified when you join voice yourself, and you can't follow yourself.
- Usernames or nicknames
- Use whichever name you know them by in that server.
- Following everyone replaces single follows
- To go back to a shortlist, remove all and add people again one by one.
- ntfy covers every server
- Turn ntfy on once and alerts from every server go to the app. Your topic is private and only sent by DM; !notifyme ntfy reset gets you a new one. If a push can't be delivered, you get a DM instead.
- Keep DMs open, or use ntfy
- DM alerts only reach you if you allow direct messages from members of that server. Switch to ntfy push notifications to skip DMs entirely.
